SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF A BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR LINEAR SYSTEMS OF PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS
The article is devoted to the actual problems of the theory of systems of linear partial differential equations, namely the study of the spectrum and basic properties of systems of eigenvector functions of the operator comparable to the boundary value problem. The paper deals with the Cauchy problem for two classes of systems of linear partial differential equations. The study of the solvability properties of these problems was reduced to the study of the spectral characteristics of the operator compared to it, thanks to the introduction of a generalized solution. The research was based on methods that are called functional, and the solvability properties are described in terms of the spectral theory of linear operators. Such methods were developed and widely used in their research K. Friedrichs, L. HErmander, S. L. Sobolev, A. A. desin, V. A. Ilyin, V. K. Romanko, E. I. Moiseev, A. p. Soldatov. It is well known that the most frequently studied questions in the theory of boundary value problems for differential equations are those related to the solvability of boundary value problems and the differential properties of solutions to such problems. The study of spectral problems for differential equations is more difficult. The theory of spectral problems for ordinary differential equations and for partial differential equations of elliptic type is developed quite fully. For differential equations of other types and for equations that do not belong to the classical types, the theory of spectral problems is in its infancy. From this point of view, this article is very relevant.
